Responsibilities

As a Marketing & Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and engaging our target audience through various marketing channels. You will be responsible for executing marketing strategies, managing social media platforms, maintaining our website and blog, implementing email campaigns, prospecting for new clients, providing support to existing clients, and promoting events. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a new college graduate to gain valuable experience and contribute to the success of local businesses.

 

Duties

Social Media Management:

  • Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Facebook Groups, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with the audience to build brand awareness and increase user engagement.
  • Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize performance.

Website and Blog Maintenance:

  • Update and maintain website content using content management systems (CMS) to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Create and publish blog posts, including writing, editing, and optimizing content for search engines.
  • Monitor website analytics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

CRM Maintenance:

  • Manage customer relationship management (CRM) systems to track client information, interactions, and marketing activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, conduct data segmentation, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.

Email Campaigns and Newsletters:

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, promote products/services, and engage with the audience.
  • Create visually appealing newsletters and email templates using platforms like Mailchimp or similar tools.
  • Monitor email performance, including open rates and click-through rates, and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Prospecting and Client Onboarding:

  • Identify potential clients through research and prospecting activities.
  • Develop strategies to attract and onboard new clients, including preparing presentations and proposals.
  • Conduct client onboarding sessions, explain our services, and address any questions or concerns.

Event Promotion and Support:

  • Coordinate promotional efforts for local events, both online and offline.
  • Assist in organizing and managing event logistics, including coordinating vendors, materials, and marketing collateral.
  • Provide on-site support during events, ensuring smooth execution and attendee satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities may include other administrative duties as new programs and projects arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or Candidate) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or Equivalent Experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, including social media management, email marketing, and content creation.
  • Proficient in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile.
  • Extensive experience creating post images, flyers, and brochures using design tools like Canva.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of professionalism in all interactions.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and email marketing platforms.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Genuine interest in supporting and promoting local small businesses.
  • Willingness to attend local networking meetings, distribute flyers, and actively engage with the community.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new marketing strategies and technologies.

Additional Notes

We offer a flexible work environment and training will be provided to support your professional growth and development. The position is 100% remote with meetings held throughout the month for networking and/or in-person collaboration and training. The entry-level compensation is $16-$18/hour depending on experience with paid holidays and one week of vacation.
